Ambassador Patrick A. Chuasoto joined the Filipino community and guests in celebrating the opening of Taza Artisan Café, a new cultural and culinary destination in Stockholm, Sweden on 13 September 2025 (Saturday).
During his remarks, Ambassador Chuasoto commended the founders—Ms. Jenny Andersson, Chief Executive Officer; Mr. Niclas Andersson, Chief Operating Officer; and Ms. Luwie Pascual, Manager and Chef—for their vision and perseverance, stating: "Taza Artisan Café is more than a business—it is a slice of our heritage and a place of community."
The café also features artworks from members of the Filipino Artists Association in Sweden (FAAS), reflecting the Filipino community’s artistry and hospitality.
Aside from coffee and tea, Taza Artisan Café offers Filipino favorites halo-halo, cheese ensaymada, egg tart, ube and cassava cakes, leche flan, ube pandesal and sandwiches for those looking for something more filling.
Taza is located at Barnängsgatan 17A, Södermalm.

01 September 2025, Stockholm – Ambassador Patrick A. Chuasoto welcomed the Filipino Artists Association of Sweden (FAAS) led by its Chairperson, Ms. Helen Svendgaar, to the Philippine Embassy in Stockholm.
The gathering provided an opportunity for Ambassador Chuasoto and FAAS to discuss ongoing and future initiatives highlighting Filipino artistry and culture in Sweden. Ambassador Chuasoto expressed his admiration for the dedication of Filipino artists in enriching the cultural landscape of Sweden and underscored the role of art as a powerful bridge between communities.
FAAS is a vibrant community established in 2018 that brings together Filipino artists residing in Sweden. It encompasses a wide range of disciplines including visual, performing, and literary arts, offering a supportive platform for Filipino heritage artists to express themselves and share their talents.

Arts, Poetry and Sweets by The Filipino Artists Association of Sweden during Stockholm Culture Night
The vibrant streets of Stockholm came alive on the 20th of April 2024 as the Filipino Artists Association (FAAS) of Sweden proudly presented “Arts, Poetry and Sweets” during Stockholm Culture Night (Kulturnatt). This unique event was nestled within the confines of the pop up art gallery Made by Gallery which is managed by the artist Maria Westerberg. Arts enthusiasts were transported into realms where creativity, literature, and gastronomy intertwined seamlessly.
The exhibit featured the eclectic and talented ensemble of Aya Askert, Elizabeth, Helen Svendgaard, Joel Bagon, Marj Assow,and Ledda Peña Wallin. From beautiful visual arts to heartfelt poetry, each piece offered a glimpse into the diverse tapestry of Filipino culture and artistic expression. The event did not fail to deliver an evening of fun and cultural artistic immersion.

The opening night of 7641 ReasonsExhibition. Why 7641 reasons? It was inspired by the number of Philippine islands, as well as the boundless creativity of it’s people. It showcases the brilliance of ten female artists using a variety of art genres.

STOCKHOLM—Filipina artists Aya Sunga Askert, Helen Svendgard, Maria Nanette del Rosario, Emelia W. Eklund and Mayline Tano-Blomberg held an art exhibit at Galleri Movitz at Horsgatan 40, Stockholm, in mid-June.
The Philippine Embassy in Oslo described the artists’ media in the exhibit are “as varied as their personalities.” Askert explored the fragility of humankind through sculptures and assemblages, while Svendgard used natural scenery as inspiration for both paintings and photography.
